Helping people rebuild confidence, capability, and steady work after injury or disruption.
First Class Honours in Counselling, Rehabilitation and Mental Health — with a builder's habit of turning hard problems into practical tools.
A whole-person counsellor with a maker's streak.
I'm Hing, a rehabilitation counsellor who cares about the whole person, not just the paperwork. I work where clinical insight, employment services, and an entrepreneurial streak meet, drawing on my own experience of navigating a new job market from a culturally diverse background. When I turned that challenge into a real strategy, I more than doubled my own application response rate and landed multiple allied health placements, and it's the same solution-focused method I now bring to clients rebuilding their working lives.
Clinical insight, grounded in return-to-work
Trained in motivational interviewing and person-centred therapy, I delivered biopsychosocial assessments and graduated return-to-work plans. On placement at Recovery Partners, I supported a caseload of workers’ compensation clients, collaborated closely with insurers including Gallagher Bassett and EML, and co-developed actionable, sustainable RTW plans in case conferences with treating health professionals.
Turning friction into tools
I like cutting the paperwork burden so people can focus on people. Through the Catalysr Migrapreneurs program I'm building Qi Careers — affordable, AI-assisted job-search and career-clarity tools that help culturally diverse jobseekers leverage their unique identity to secure more interviews. I’ve also led EdTech initiatives and built automated workflows — always turning to technology to cut administrative load and free up more time for the human work that matters most.
Mindfulness as practice
I'm a dedicated meditator, and mindfulness runs through how I work. I use mindfulness-based interventions to help people build psychological resilience, sit with discomfort, and make real behavioural change — unlocking potential through mental training, and starting, often, with a single slow breath.
Study, placement, and hands-on care.
